If you’re looking for some seriously sweet & totally instagrammable street art in LA: you need look no further than the famed Melrose Avenue. When it comes to street art this is the street to hit up! Made famous from the popular T.V. show The Melrose Place the Avenue is not only filled with hip shops and delicious cafes and restaurants, the walls are covered in murals and street art for blocks!
My friend and fashion blogger Debora, of Sisterly Love, and I hung out in Hollywood on Saturday and hit a few of the most iconic Walls!
The Most Instagrammable Street in LA
The Pink Wall
Paul Smith, 8221 Melrose Avenue (at N Harper Avenue), West Hollywood
This wall is the loveliest bold shade of pink you’ve ever seen. It’s not just the wall, though, it’s the whole Paul Smith building. Pink, from head to toe. After snapping some shots on my real camera the security guard came over to point out the Pink Wall rules, no professional cameras, phones only. So out came our phones and we continued snapping away.
I figured a couple instax shots fit in the category of no professional cameras (right?!). Definitely my favorite Melrose Avenue photo shoot spot!
Corner of Melrose Avenue and N Harper Avenue, West Hollywood
Directly across from the Pink Wall at Paul Smith is this HELLO wall. New to the Melrose Ave art scene the HELLO wall currently houses the clothing store Ever. Simple and understated. It hasn’t been there long enough to have caught on yet!
Made In LA
Cisco Home, 8025 Melrose Ave. (at N Laurel Avenue), West Hollywood
Walk a few blocks from Paul Smith and you’ll find the iconic Made In LA mural at the furniture store Cisco Home. From locals to tourist how can you resist a shot under these giant letters?!
Melrose Avenue, between Ogden and N Genesee Ave, West Hollywood
It is, after all, the City of Angels, so it’s no surprise we found some angel wings on the Avenue. Part of the The Global Angel Wings Project by Colette Miller there are multiple locations through out LA where her wings can be found. My favorite set of Miller’s Angels Wings is at Angel City Brewery in the Arts District.
Angels Will Rise
Angels Will Rise, Melrose Avenue and N La Jolla Avenue, West Hollywood
It may seem abstract up close, but cross the street and this beautiful mural features three majestic eagles, with bursting brilliant blue halos, getting ready to take flight.
Corner of Melrose Avenue and Spaulding Avenue, West Hollywood
What’s Hollywood without Marilyn Monroe? Frozen in time with those signature red lips, who knows how long this street art will last? That’s the nature of LA street art. It comes and sometimes it goes.
Melrose Avenue is definitely the Most Instagrammable Street in LA when it comes to street art and murals! I can’t wait to get back out there on the streets of LA exploring all the fabulous art that might be waiting for me, just around the corner.
